Learn how to import cars from the United States into Canada

As referenced in Section Three of the UCanImport Guide, below is the current warranty policies for each auto manufacturer.

Acura	1-888-922-8729	Acura has elected to void your OEM warranty if you import one of their vehicles from the United States into Canada. If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty instead.
Audi	1-800-822-2834	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
BMW	1-888-922-8729	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage EXCEPT you will not be entitled to free scheduled maintenance. UCanImport suggests you use this as a bargaining chip with the U.S. dealership and request a discount approximately equal to the value of the scheduled maintenance over the term of the manufacturer's warranty.
Chrysler	1-800-465-2001 1-800-387-9983 (Quebec)	Chrysler calls itself "Canada's Choice". And to make sure it stays that way, the company has elected to void your OEM warranty if you import one of their vehicles from the United States into Canada. If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty.
Ford	1-800-565-3673	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
General Motors	1-800-263-3777(English) 1-800-263-7854 (French)	Vehicle must be 6 months old from its "build date" AND have 12,000 Km on it before the OEM warranty can be registered in Canada. Consider purchasing a third-party warranty for this initial period.
Honda	1-888-946-6329	Although one of Honda's current mottos on its Canadian web site is "Working with Canadians", in reality the company would rather block your access to any U.S. preferential pricing by voiding your OEM warranty if you import one of their vehicles from the United States into Canada. If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty instead.
Hyundai	English: 1-800-461-8242 French: 1-800-461-5695	In an effort to block your access to their preferential U.S. vehicle pricing, Hyundai has elected to void your OEM warranty if you import one of their vehicles from the United States into Canada. If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty instead.
Infiniti	1-800-387-0122	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
Jaguar	1-800-452-4827	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
Lexus	1-888-869-6828	Although Toyota/Lexus has issued an official memo to its U.S. dealership network that they are prohibited from selling new vehicles to Canadians (click here to download a copy of the memo), Toyota Canada Inc. will currently honour the OEM warranty on vehicles of U.S. origin (we suggest you simply use a U.S. auto broker rather than a dealership to make your purchase).
Mazda	1-800-263-4680	Zoom. Zoom. There goes your OEM warranty. In an effort to block your access to their preferential U.S. vehicle pricing, Mazda has elected to void your warranty if you import one of their vehicles from the United States into Canada. If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty instead.
Mercedes Benz	1-800-387-0100	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage, EXCEPT for corrosion protection. You should consider additional protection through third-party warranty coverage. UCanImport also suggests you use this as a bargaining chip with the U.S. dealership and request a discount approximately equal to the value of the corrosion protection (which is included by the manufacturer as part of the warranty allocation in the price of the vehicle).
MINI	1-866-378-6469	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage EXCEPT you will not be entitled to free scheduled maintenance. UCanImport suggests you use this as a bargaining chip with the U.S. dealership and request a discount approximately equal to the value of the scheduled maintenance over the term of the manufacturer's warranty.
Mitsubishi	1-888-576-4878	Mitsubishi's motto is "Go Far"... just not too far. If you go all the way into the United States to buy one of their cars the, company will void your OEM warranty if you bring it back to Canada! If you still wish to purchase a product from this company, UCanImport suggests you request a discount from the U.S. dealership equal to the manufacturer's warranty allocation (which the manufacturer builds into the price of each vehicle) and purchase a third-party warranty instead.
Nissan	1-800-387-0122	Coverage is delayed for six months and void if the vehicle is resold within this period. After six months, you have full coverage. UCanImport suggests you consider a third-party warranty for the initial six months.
Porsche	1-800-767-7243	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
Subaru	1-800-894-4212	Subaru has issued an official memo to its U.S. dealership network prohibiting the sale of a new vehicle to a Canadian without express written permission from their U.S. headquarters (click here to download a copy of the memo). However, Subaru USA will currently honour the OEM warranty on vehicles imported into Canada (we suggest you simply use a U.S. auto broker rather than a dealership to make your purchase).Subaru Complete coverage. Please note that warranty work must be paid up front and then billed back to Subaru USA.
Suzuki	1-905-889-2677 or 1-514-956-7986	Complete coverage on all vehicles EXCEPT the Forenza and Reno. You will need to purchase a third-party warranty for these models.
Toyota	1-888-869-6828	Although Toyota/Lexus has issued an official memo to its U.S. dealership network that they are prohibited from selling new vehicles to Canadians (click here to download a copy of the memo), Toyota Canada Inc. will currently honour the OEM warranty on vehicles of U.S. origin (we suggest you simply use a U.S. auto broker rather than a dealership to make your purchase).
Volkswagen	1-800-822-8987	Your OEM warranty is valid in Canada and you will have complete coverage.
Volvo	1-800-663-8255	Volvo has been extremely aggressive with a new admissibility and vehicle compliance process in an effort to curtail cross-border shopping. However, if you import a Volvo from the United States into Canada, your OEM warranty remains valid and you will have complete coverage.
